Plastic pollution has grown into an undeniable structural monstrosity across Nigeria, choking urban drainage
networks and degrading rural agrarian land. Addressing this crisis, the Executive Director of PFSEE, Austin
Igwe, has formally advocated for the systematic adoption of fully biodegradable pots as direct replacements
for conventional single-use plastic packaging in afforestation campaigns.
This deliberate pivot ensures that the foundation's large-scale tree planting activities remain entirely eco-
friendly, avoiding the counter-productive generation of plastic nursery waste while healing the soil organically
from day one.
