Nigeria to Adopt the Use of Biodegradable Pots to Reduce Plastic Waste
Plastic pollution has become a real challenge in Nigeria. Urban centres are littered with single-use plastics and rural areas are equally burdened with plastic waste. Addressing participants at the official launching of the Plastic Alternative Container (PAC) in Abuja, PFSEE Executive Director Austin Igwe highlighted that despite the growing impact of climate change globally, public awareness is still lacking in Nigeria and Africa at large. The IPAT ("I Plant A Tree") project was launched on 15 October 2021, kick-starting with UBEC-approved schools across Nigeria. PFSEE's initiatives include Zero Illiteracy (ZEIL) for capacity building and awareness on SGBV, Drug Abuse, and Anti-Cultism; IPAT for environmental sustainability via tree planting and conservation.

Launches Biodegradable Pots to Reduce Plastic Waste
As part of its strategies to contain climate challenges and boost environmental conservation, PFSEE plans to plant five to ten million trees annually. Austin Igwe spoke at the official launch of the Plastic Alternative Container (PAC) themed "Building Sustainable Nigeria: Challenges, Opportunities and Strategic Partnerships" in Abuja.

PFSEE Launches PAC to Eliminate Single-Use Plastics
As Africa's largest nation joins the struggle to eliminate single-use plastics, PFSEE launched the Plastic Alternative Container (PAC) in Abuja. Executive Director Austin Igwe said the idea behind PAC is to encourage supermarkets, restaurants, and medicine stores to use plastic alternative containers instead of single-use plastics.

PFSEE Donates 50 Trees to AYGF as Part of the IPAT Campaign
