At the formal inauguration and prize-giving day of the Green Schools Initiative (GSI 1.0) held under the urgent
theme "My Climate, My Future," the Printrite Foundation for Sustainable Environment and Education
(PFSEE) issued a national call for the formal inclusion of climate change studies into the Nigerian primary and
secondary school educational curriculum.
Addressing dignitaries, PFSEE Executive Director Austin Igwe detailed that over 20 active schools across the
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) successfully participated in the foundational phase. Students actively raised
and nurtured over 3,000 seedlings, successfully establishing nearly 1,500 permanent young trees. The
foundation emphasizes that tomorrow's ecological safety depends heavily on educating children to be
environmentally conscious today.
